Revised Customer process rotary drum furnace in the Iron & Steel sector

Rotary drum furnace iron & steel

Production of nodular and grey-cast iron

PROCESS DESCRIPTION

Tiltable (TTRF = Tilt Type Rotary Furnace) or stationary rotary drum ovens of various types are used for economic reasons and the high operating flexibility of the process. The transfer of heat in the rotary furnace mainly takes place through the rotating furnace wall which is immersed in the melt, and heated directly by the burner flame. An O2 flame is particularly suitable for this purpose.

In the case of stationary rotary furnaces, the metal and slag is removed via spouts. With tiltable rotary furnaces the entire furnace is lifted hydraulically and metal and slag is tapped at the feed opening.

The required energy input is carried out with burner systems such as Oxyfuel.

Advantages of Oxipyr burner systems at a glance:

Higher combustion efficiency
Higher melting rate
Faster heating-up times
Lower fuel consumption
Higher processing temperatures possible
Faster reaction speeds
Lower exhaust gas levels
Less dust
Lower emissions
Lower production costs
